The accepted recommendation from dental professionals is that teeth need cleaning twice a day. This is the first step towards healthy teeth and gums.
The modified Bass toothbrush technique is well recognized as a safe, effective brushing technique.
Hold the brush at a 45 degree angle to the areas where the gum meets the tooth. Using short vibratory strokes move the tooth brush across the tooth to gum area. It is vital that this is a controlled, short stroke movement and not a furious ‘scrub’.
This needs to be done on all of the lip and cheek side of the teeth, and then all of the tongue and the palate side and finally the chewing surfaces need to be cleaned with the flat head of the filaments making direct contact with the biting and chewing surfaces of the teeth.
